Patrick J. Dempsey

Mr. Dempsey is President and Chief Executive Officer, Barnes Group Inc. His career spans over forty years of experience in global manufacturing across a diverse range of aerospace and industrial end markets. Developing strategies to capitalize on major macro trends, he takes a hands-on approach to driving cultural and portfolio transformations through the leveraging of technology and company-wide enterprise systems.

With a laser focus on profitable growth, Barnes Group has transformed its business portfolio under Mr. Dempsey's strategic leadership through key investments that include multiple long-term and life-of-program aerospace partnerships on the next generation of aircraft and a series of industrial technology based acquisitions into differentiated growth markets such as medical devices, packaging, and automation.

Mr. Dempsey joined Barnes Group in 2000 to lead the Company's Aerospace Aftermarket business and to position the business for growth. He was later appointed a Company officer and President Barnes Aerospace expanding his responsibilities to include both the OE production and Aftermarket segments.

In 2007, Mr. Dempsey was promoted to President, Barnes Distribution to lead the Company's expansion of its North American and European distribution businesses. In 2012, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer and President, Barnes Industrial.

Prior to joining Barnes Group, Mr. Dempsey held several senior management positions at United Technologies Corporation, Pratt and Whitney Division and Interturbine Corporation.

Mr. Dempsey holds a Bachelor's degree of Technology (Education) from the University of Limerick, Ireland and a M.B.A. from the University of Michigan. He serves on the Board of Directors for Nucor Corporation and the Board of Trustees for Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation (MAPI).
