The Hall-Scott Motor Car Company produced aircraft engines from 1910 through World War I. Designed by E.J. Hall, their water-cooled four and six cylinder (vertical in-line) and eight cylinder (vee-type) engines provided reliable, quality engines to pioneer airmen.
This early A-2 was the type used by Thomas Scott Baldwin in his famous “Red Devil” exhibition flyers.
