Thoughts About the 58th:
My husband lost his two-year battle with lung cancer on January 20, 2003. I am sad that Gene's feelings about his missions and fellow crew members cannot be recorded. I do know that he was very proud of their effort. In light of our very recent military efforts in Iraq, it is obvious that our young American service members, both then and now, exhibit great determination, courage and strong sense of responsibility that makes us grateful and proud.
Mr. Walter is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
