Thoughts About the 58th: My service was both rewarding and unforgettable. Rewarding in the honor of being a member of such a fine organization plus the sense of pride which comes from the hope that I, in some small way, made a contribution to our country's victory over an enemy determined to destroy us by any means. Unforgettable in the memory of the entire military from training at SHAFF, through the combat phase, to the safe return home. But most of all, to the memory of those lost or badly injured during the process -- buddies and comrades gone -- I will never forget.
