Thoughts About the 58th: My service as a member of a combat crew in the 58th BW was one of the most defining experiences in my life. The sights of major Japanese cities being consumed by fire, the loss of friends and associates, the separation from home and the anxieties of combat have all left an indelible impression on my memory. I cannot forget what happened sixty years ago and am thankful that I am a privileged survivor.
Comments:
I am personally grateful to [Museum Executive Director] Mike [Speciale] and his friends at NEAM who were responsible for bringing the 58th BW Memorial to fruition. Their hours of toil, anxiety and frustration were well rewarded by this achievement. As a member of the 58th, I am extremely proud of this memorial.
