Thoughts About the 58th:
I went into the Army Air Corps as a Cadet and after 12 weeks of Army Basic Training in Amarillo, TX, I was told they had plenty of Pilots, Navigators and Bombardiers and I was going to gunnery school at Fort Myers, Florida.
B-29 training at McDill Field, Tampa, as a Tail Gunner,Kearney, Neb., California, Guam, Tinian, Saipan. Shipped home on Marine Dragon, a Merchant Marine ship, Oakland, CA, Fort Bliss, TX.
