Thoughts About the 58th:
Comments: We were married same month war started, December 28, 1941. After he had schooling to be Flight Engineer, I joined him with our young son after he was assigned to a crew for the 3 months staging before going overseas -- first to India, then to Tinian. He left shortly after we celebrated our son's first birthday in October 1944 in Lincoln, NE.
I had newspaper clippings of all the missions he flew on from Tinian. I donated the scrapbook to the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, OH a few years after my husband's death.
Mr. Boone passed away on December 24th 1996 and is buried at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, HI
