Thoughts About the 58th: To a kid who was hooked on airplanes from day one, being with a new high tech, state-of-the-art, before its time aircraft was to be proud and honored. Also being part of the first outfit to take the airplane into combat was awesome. I saw a lot of the world through the blister of a B-29 -- China, Burma, India, the Pacific, Japan, Manchuria, Malaysia, Thailand, Indo-China, Sumatra, Formosa, etc.
