Thoughts About the 58th: I'm sure I can say for my husband that he was very proud of his service. His association with the members of the crew of 'Jack's Hack' meant a great deal to him. The men were very close. I would say closer than brothers. Their lives depended on each other. It has been a pleasure for me to be able to be in contact with most of them.
Comments: Bob and I were married when he was in cadet training at Clemson, SC. I lived in Clemson for two months just to see him one hour a day. After he was shipped out of Clemson, I followed him until he went overseas. I had never even been on a train before that. What an adventure for a 20 year old!
