Charles was president of Charles G. Abel Agency, Inc., and was a developer of management and sales computer software and a management and sales consultant.
Charlie was a member of the National Sales and Marketing Executive Club Speakers' Bureau, a Dale Carnegie Course Instructor, a Speech Instructor for Mid South Bible Institute. He has lectured at Arkansas State University, Universities of Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oklahoma City and Ohio. He also created and served as Master of Ceremonies of the Jaycee Hour, a weekly radio program. He authored several books on Sales and Management for AFLAC.
As an Executive Vice President of the Brickell Institute of Leadership Training sponsoring the Dale Carnegie Leadership and Sales Courses in eight states and Central America, he has conducted sales and management seminars for all types of businesses. As an Executive Vice President of the group of National Investors Life Insurance Companies, he also was the Ohio State Manager for AFLAC having written many of that Company's original sales training programs.

Charles was a member of First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro and served as a Sunday School teacher and has served in most capacities in the Church. Charles was active in many civic activities having serves as Chairperson passing the $50 million sales tax for Jonesboro street improvements; Director of Arkansas Arthritis Foundation; President of NE Arkansas Sales and marketing Executive Club; Training Chairperson for Little Rock United Fund; Vice Chairperson for Pioneer District of the Boy Scouts; Member of Executive Board of the Quapaw Area Boy Scouts of America; Appointed by the U.S. State Department as Arkansas Chairperson for the Partners of the Alliance conducting a trade mission to Bolivia; Appointed by President Kennedy to head 15 insurance executives in a People-to-People Mission to the governments of Russia, England, France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy; Member and past President of Catfish Club.
Mr. Abel passed away April 13th 2007. He is buried at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR.
