Visit the Cradle of the American Industrial Revolution and discover its connections to the history of aerospace in support of the New England Air Museum.


Lowell's planned city marked the beginning of the industrial transformation of America. Visitors can see the working components of this early manufacturing center---the dam and six miles of canals that harnessed the energy of the Merrimack River; the mills where goods were produced; the machine shops that powered the city’s industry; and the neighborhoods its workers called home.

Our itinerary:

  • 8:30 a.m.
    Meet at the New England Air Museum and enjoy coffee and breakfast pastries.
    9:00 a.m.
    Depart the New England Air Museum aboard a luxury motor coach equipped with a restroom as well as complimentary wi-fi, bottled water, and snacks.
    11:00 a.m.
    Approximate arrival time at Lowell National Historic Park. Enjoy self-guided time with special access to the Bootts Cotton Mill and Mills Girls Exhibits. Take a guided walking tour, view the orientation film, or stroll the scenic canal paths. Lunch will be on your own at one of several restaurants located within the park.
    2:00 p.m.
    Meet your trip coordinator at the Visitor Center.
    2:30 p.m.
    Mill and Trolley Tour led by a Park Ranger. This tour combines a trolley ride, short walk, and special access to the Wannalancit Mill.
    4:30 p.m.
    Depart Lowell National Park.
    6:30 p.m.
    Approximate arrival time back at the New England Air Museum.

Cost for Museum members: $120 per person; non-members: $150 per person.

Fees include complimentary parking at the New England Air Museum; museum admission and tour fees; coffee, breakfast pastries, bottled water, and snacks; luxury motor coach transportation, and all gratuities. This trip is limited to 29 participants and full payment is required to secure spots.
