Space Expo

Saturday, April 1, 2017, 10:00am to 4:00pm

Experience out of this world fun at the New England Air Museum’s 9th annual SPACE EXPO, New England’s largest aerospace event.

Featuring NASA Astronaut Rick Mastracchio

Lectures at 11:30am and 1:00pm

Born and raised in Waterbury, Connecticut, Mastracchio graduated from the University of Connecticut and worked as an engineer at Hamilton Standard (now UTC Aerospace Systems) before joining NASA in 1990. He has logged over two hundred days in space, serving on four missions that included nine spacewalks.

Activities Include:

◦ Meet life-sized droids & intergalactic characters from 10:30am-12:30pm and 1:30-3:00pm.
◦ Fly the Space Shuttle at the Virtual Flight Center from 11:00am-3:00pm. Additional $5 fee per person applies, tickets available on a first come, first served basis.
◦ Build and launch a straw rocket from 10:30am-2:30pm.
◦ View a STARLAB planetarium show. Seating is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Shows are 30 minutes long and will be shown on the half hour starting at 10:30am, with the last show at 3:30pm.
◦ Try on a space suit from 10:30am-2:30pm,

All activities and events will be available from 10:00am-4:00pm and are included with general admission unless otherwise noted. All activities and events are subject to change.

  • $12.50 Adults (ages 12 and older)
  • $7.00 Children (ages 4-11)
  • Children ages 3 and under admitted free
  • NEAM Members admitted free of charge
