Grumman F-14B 'Tomcat'

Grumman F-14B Tomcat

THIS AIRCRAFT IS ON LOAN FROM THE NATIONAL NAVAL AVIATION MUSEUM, PENSACOLA, FLORIDA

The F-14B was introduced in 1987 as an improved and more powerful version of the F-14A which first entered service in 1974. In its time, it was without equal among the world's fighter airplanes. The variable-sweep wings gave the "Tomcat" a combat maneuvering capability the could not be achieved with a fixed-wing platform. Other configurations allowed it to be a potent, all-weather, medium-range strike aircraft.
