Thoughts on the 58th Bomb Wing:
My military service was an unforgettable experience, especially so as a member of the 58th B.W.Some of the outstanding events that I was privy to as a member of a flight combat crew are:
  • Prior to our first bombing mission over Japan being briefed by Lord Louis Mountbatten.
  • Photo mission of the Philippines required by General MacArthur prior to the invasion.
  • The many flights over Formosa.
  • Flying the "Hump"
  • All the combat missions that we completed.
