NEAM Welcomes New Restoration Coordinator, Robert Vozzola

After more than 30 years working in the Air Force and the aerospace industry, Bob Vozzola joined NEAM in March. His previous jobs include Project Engineer, Squadron Commander, Director of Testing, and Program Manager where he gained experience and offered expertise in advanced weapons systems development, testing, and evaluation for the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy, NASA and foreign governments. What does all of that really mean? Well, he’s worked with aircraft, munitions, and lighter than air vehicles.

If you asked Bob what he liked most during
Burnelli CBY-3
his previous career, he’d say the variety of jobs and the professionalism and integrity of the people that he worked with in his 23 year Air Force career and then in the defense industry. There were new challenges almost every week.
Bob is originally from the area, growing up in Windsor Locks, graduating from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and then getting his master’s degree in aeronautical engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology. He has experience in both air and space systems, and those who have worked with Bob regard him as an exceptional team manager.
Bob is looking forward to his new job, once again because of the people. He volunteered for two months before taking on the Restoration Coordinator position. He rapidly recognized the high level of knowledge and enthusiasm of the volunteers that he worked with. He said that he hopes to make it easier for them, keep them safe, and facilitate the museums vision.
And he’d love to hear from you! Say hello next time you see him walking around the museum. Please join us in welcoming Bob to NEAM.
