10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Established by President Franklin Roosevelt in 1939 to commemorate the anniversary of Orville Wright's birthday, this year's event celebrates over one hundred years of New England aviation history. Join us for activities for children, families, and aviation enthusiasts of all ages. The program includes our popular Open Cockpit experiences in real aircraft; hands-on Build & Fly Challenge; interactive Flight Science Demonstrations; virtual flight simulators; and much more!
Also on that day Don Boccaccio, a Crew Member and Tour Leader on Fifi, one of two B-29 WWII bombers still flying will provide a "behind the scenes" look at Fifi and what it takes to keep wind under her wings. The program begins at 1:00 in the Museum's conference room. The talk is free for Museum members, and there is a charge of $5.00 in addition to Museum admission for non-members.
For this event, the Museum will be offering books and built models for sale.
