SCHOOL GROUP FEES

Self-guided Visit: $8.00 per student
Guided Tour: $12.00 per student
Classroom Program: $14.00 per student
Combination Tour & Program: $16.00 per student

All school staff members are admitted free of charge, while all parent chaperones will be admitted at the discounted adult admission rate of $10.00 per person.

One payment for the entire group will be due at check-in on the day of your visit in the form of cash, school check, or credit card. If your school needs to pay by purchase order, please notify the Director of Education at the time of booking. Overpayments will be reimbursed in the form of a mailed check within 7-10 days of your visit.

All school groups receive a grade level appropriate scavenger hunt as well as self-guided time and the use of our dining facilities for a lunch break.

CLASSROOM PROGRAM: THINGS THAT FLY

What do birds, seeds, and helicopters have in common? They fly! Through hands-on demonstrations and an interactive story time, students will compare natural versus mechanical fight before building and launching their own flying machines.

What pulls us toward the Earth? How does drag slow us down? Students will test the forces of gravity and drag through focused experiments before constructing and launching a load-carrying parachute.

Students will discover the science of flight through interactive demonstrations of the four forces (lift, thrust, weight and drag) before conducting a focused investigation as they design, build and test fly their own straw gliders.

TAKE FLIGHT!

Lighter than air flight, heavier than air flight, spaceflight…this tour introduces visitors to the fascinating history of flight with a special focus on New England’s contributions to aviation, both past and present.

This tour focuses on the history of military aviation and its significance during World War II, the Cold War, the Vietnam War, as well as military actions of the late 20th century and today.

OUTREACH PROGRAMS

Bring one of our educational programs to your classroom, school night, library, or community center.

Outreach programs last 45 minutes and can accommodate up to 30 people per program session, with multiple sessions available to book for a single outreach visit.

$175 for the first session, $50 for each additional session, with mileage fees at the rate of $0.50 per mile for locations located more than 10 miles away from the museum.
