After retiring from the Air Force, he had a civilian position as the London Station Manager for Pan American World Airways System for a few years and then returned the military for another decade of service as the Operations Coordinator of the Pacific Missile Range in Kaneohe, Oahu.

|
Jack will be remembered for his "joie de vivre", his love of music, his passion for flying and his charm and conviviality. He was an unwavering patriot who spent most of his working life serving this country and was humble about his military successes, often saying that he was just doing his job and that many others of his generation were doing the same.

Lt. Col. Gregg passed away on July 16th 2008. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
