After his discharge, Bill graduated from University of Connecticut and was employed as an Electrical Engineer. He also enjoyed painting, writing and poetry.
"Years ago, Bill was active in the now defunct Connecticut Writers League, and I remember him with fondness. He took pride in his creative writing. Although he was teased for being the opposite of what a writer was supposed to be -- an engineer! -- and living in what we called the Boondocks of Connecticut."
