| Thoughts on the 58th Bomb Wing: |
| Space doesn't permit me to articulate what my true feelings are about my experiences during WWII. In the context of today's world, and today's attitudes in America, it scares me and makes me worry about the future of America and the world. During WWII there was no doubt about why we were fighting and there was support from virtually every American. It was a privilege to serve with so many talented and dedicated people. Being one of the lucky ones to survive, it bothers me to see the moral breakdown in our society. In short, too many people don't seem willing to work and take risks to better themselves and society as a whole.
During my 82+ years, WWII stands out as a time when people with real character came together and helped preserve what working and dedicated people before us had created without so-called government assistance. The right to be free to work and create were all the rights they needed. I'm very proud and privileged to have served with the men and women of the 58th Bomb Wing.
