| Thoughts on the 58th Bomb Wing: |
| It was a great experience for a young person. The older I get the more thankful I am that I was able to experience the operation of the 58th from Tinian, even though a Japanese straggler shot at me and missed my head by a mere fraction of an inch.Watching the missions take off and return were very meaningful experiences. The camaraderie in our 12-men squad tent still evokes fond memories. To watching the last mission of the war returning with every aircraft in formation with its landing lights on is still a vivid memory.I am very thankful for being part of the 58th Bomb Wing. |
