| Capt. Wayne T. Mann joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in mid-1941. He was transferred back to the USAF in early 1942. Instructor Pilot in Dyersburg, Tennessee in B-17. Transferred to Luke, AZ as B-24 Instructor. In original members of 20th Air Force in Great Bend, KS. Sent to Del Rio, TX to check out on B-26. Was Instructor Pilot for the B-29. Transferred to India and to Okinawa. Bailed out over hump.
Two of his brothers also served in the Air Force: Lt. Rudd V. Mann 1938-1942. Died in Air Force plane crash. Johnnie L. Mann 1943-1946 -- 8th Air Force as ball turret gunner.
