| Thoughts on the 58th Bomb Wing: |
| As an 18 year old, it was growing up time. I never stopped to realize what we really did until reading some of our history. I was one of twelve to first arrive at A-7 as guest of the Chinese government. I was responsible for setting up aircraft supply. Was proud of the fact we never had a plane abort from lack of parts. Left A-7 in November for India Base. February 1945 we left for Tinian with a great 6-day stay in Melbourne. In April we hit Tinian, slept on the ground, posted guards and tried to sleep. Left Tinian in October '45 with the 444th. They happened to have room. The 58th taught me many things. Was proud to be a small part of history. |
