| Thoughts on the 58th Bomb Wing: |
| A memorable experience for Cundell was on Sept. 3, 1945, when first A/C McEachern, missing since May 29, 1945, in the Tokyo raid was reported safe at ATSUGI. Most of their crew, as originally assigned to the 58th Bomb Wing, held their own reunions yearly since 1990. The most memorable one was in 1993, when first A/C and surviving POW John McEachern, A/C James D. McCall, Group Operations Officer, who also flew seven missions with the crew, and A/C Clarence D. Lamar, who was the first to land a B-29 on the Japanese mainland, all attended. |
