Returned to pre-war employer Standard Register Co. in Dayton, Ohio, in production control department. Was transferred to new plant in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in January 1958 as production control supervisor. Retired in 1984.

| Thoughts on the 58th Bomb Wing: |
|
I was proud to be in the original B-29 Wing. I was glad to be able to return to civilian life with no ill affects from my time in India and on the island of Tinian. My time in the service included 96 days on board ship going around the world. I have attended several 58th reunions. Attended the 50th anniversary of the first B-29 flight in Seattle in 1992 and was on a return tour to Tinian on the 50th anniversary of the end of the war in Japan.

I was pay and records clerk for the 678th Squadron and prepared payrolls in transit going overseas, in India and on Tinian. Helped recut all orders when we returned to California from Tinian because we could not leave until they had all been redone.
Mr. Hildbold passed away July 4th 2003. He is buried at Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Rockbridge, OH.
