Thoughts on the 58th Bomb Wing:
While I would not want to go through it again and I hope that my grandchildren never have to go to war, it was a truly wonderful experience to be a part of the effort to win WWII. I was only 19 years old and yet had very great responsibility. It was a very maturing experience. I would not trade it for anything. I am proud to have served my country -- I hope well.

It also enabled me to receive five full school years in college through the GI Bill of Rights.

Comments:
I was part of a very good crew: (photo below) Back Row (L to R) Flight Engineer, Harold Hartman; Radio Operator, Vincent Yanuchi; CFC Gunner, Gordon D. Clark; Gunner, Bobby Fowler; Gunner, Floyd Eckman; Tail Gunner, Karr Roe; Front Row (L to R) Bombardier, Paul V. Callahan; Pilot, Julian Jensen; Aircraft Commander John W. Woolsey; Navigator, Brooks Rice; Radar, Robert McLane.

A very good crew!

T. Brooks Rice, c.2000
