Thoughts on the 58th Bomb Wing:
I am very proud of my time in the service, the time I spent in the 58th Wing, the education I received in the service and what we accomplished for the liberty of democracy in the world. I was able to travel all over the US and some of the rest of the world. I enjoyed my 3 years in the service except the bombing missions because I realize now that we killed so many poor people - especially women and children. I flew with Lt. Col. Turner - a very good Pilot and person. He was a Command Pilot.

Comments:

I had to bail out of a burning B-29 over China and was returned to my base by Communist Chinese (our friends at the time). Pilot and co-pilot were killed trying to land the plane.

In my three years in the service I flew around the world.
