| Comments: |
| Charlie was a welder and worked on the aircraft. He fashioned a "hoist" to remove aircraft engines, as well as crafting a working washing machine to wash uniforms. He flew over the "hump" in an unarmed plane to deliver fuel. The plane was made lighter by removing bombs and guns to enable more fuel to be delivered. He was the gunner with a light weight wooden gun to fool enemy aircraft if noticed. He said it wasn't considered a mission per se. |
