| Thoughts on the 58th Bomb Wing: |
|
My service in the 58th Bomb Wing during WWII covers the following highlights: Navigated a B-29 around the world (not the same aircraft but the same type of airplane). Magellan beat me around the world by a few hundred years!
Worked and flew with some highly dedicated and outstanding individuals. Participated on the first ever B-29 mission on June 5, 1944, against Bangkok, Thailand.
World War II made me aware of the benefits of having a college degree and therefore, I obtained a Masters Degree through the G.I. Bill of Rights. World War II made me realize how lucky we are to live in the Good Old USA.
