Called to active duty May 1, 1951, assigned to 305th Bomb Wing at MacDill AFB in Florida. Sent to KC-97 A & E School at Kelly AFB Texas. Returned to MacDill, 305th Air Refueling Sqd. until my discharge on June 1952 as S/Sgt. |

| Since I was trained as a machinist, I worked in that trade for most of my life and spent 12 years in aircraft engine overhaul shops before moving on to printing and related machinery until my retirement in January 1990. |

| Thoughts on the 58th Bomb Wing: |
| I am proud to have served in the 58th Bomb Wing. When I think of what we did to prove and improve the reliability and worthiness of the B-29 airplane and thus were able to bring about the defeat of Japan. |
