Thoughts on the 58th Bomb Wing:
After entering the service, it was a series of posts in Alabama, Pennsylvania and Maryland. After requesting a transfer into the Air Force I was stationed in Virginia. Then the war began to mean more and more. I was somewhere that was buzzing. The 20th Air Force of the 58th Bomb Wing was formed and we were in Australia, India, China and Tinian Island with the greatest planes in the world, the B-29. Serving with the 58th Bomb Wing was the most rewarding part of my service. I enjoyed the people, the action, and the final results of winning the war and helping to achieve peace again. Some of the best years of my life.
