Northwest Airlines in St. Paul, MN; later joined research laboratories of Mercury Outboard Engines, part of Kiekhaefer Corp., in Oshkosh, WI. He was part of the Kiekhaefer Auto Racing team which competed in the NASCAR racing circuit. Ralph was a chief mechanic for his team's cars in the Pan American Road Races in 1952 and 1953. Joined Outboard Marine's research laboratories in Milwaukee, WI, where worked through 1969. He was a shop manager for Boeckler in Tucson until he retired at the age of 65.
 
Thoughts on the 58th Bomb Wing:
He was very proud to tell the stories about China. He was also one of the very first soldiers to return home because he had accumulated so many points. He was surprised to know that.
