| Thoughts on the 58th Bomb Wing: |
| A time of good adventure and the chance to defend my country. My good fortune to be selected to attend lead crew school. Reassigned from the crew that I went overseas with to another crew to return to the States to attend lead crew school. Three days after I left on July 18, 1945, the crew crashed on Tinian returning from a training mission. |
