A Tribute to Our Veterans, Servicemen & Servicewomen

On Sunday, November 10, the New England Air Museum will hold its annual Veterans Day program.

Visitors to the Museum will have the opportunity to meet & talk one-on-one with veterans of WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. They can tour the Museum's three hangars with its extensive collection of vintage including many military aircraft. There will be a special World War I exhibit for a close-up view of two WWI aircraft and five antique engines from that era.

You will also have the chance to sit in the cockpits of a number of combat aircraft including the North American F-100A Super Sabre, the WWII Republic P-47D Thunderbolt, the Bell UH-1B Huey helicopter, the Bell AH-1S Cobra helicopter and more.

Meet with representatives of numerous veterans' organizations who can provide information on services they provide These will include the Deptartment of Veteran Affairs, AMVETS (American Veterans), Connecticut National Guard Service Member and Family Support Center and New Haven Vet Center with their 40 ft. mobile Veterans Help Center.

Museum educators will provide hands-on activities for younger visitors and the Museum’s Flight Sim Spot full-flight simulator experience will be available throughout most of the day.  For the convenience of visitors, a food vendor will be on site serving sandwiches, snacks and beverages.
