New England Air Museum
NEAM News Archive

The Museum announces its newest capital construction project to add a 10,000 sq. ft. addition on to its existing 12,000 sq. ft. storage hangar.

NEAM Storage Hangar
The storage hangar, which is located in the outdoor display yard, was built and put into use in 2010. The expanded facility is seen as essential to the Museum’s growth and development. It will enhance the Museum’s ability to preserve historic aircraft and to allow for more flexibility in rotating aircraft on and off display.
JLN Contracting of Berlin, Connecticut has been selected as the contractor, with work expected to begin in May, 2013. The project is supported through a grant provided by the Connecticut State Department of Community & Economic Development.
The New England Air Museum is owned and operated by Connecticut Aeronautical Historical Association, a nonprofit educational institution. It is situated on a 58 acre parcel of land at Bradley International Airport that has been made available for the Museum’s use through the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
Since moving to its current site in 1981, the Museum has built three exhibit hangars, a restoration hangar, a 10,000 sq. ft. storage building and a 12,000 sq. ft. storage hangar which will be added onto shortly.
