Detriot Aero


An inexpensive engine ($350) for the amateur aviator, the Detroit Aero was designed and manufactured by Fred Weinberg of Detroit, Michigan. The engine produced 30 hp at 1,500 rpm with a displacement of 237 cubic inches. Over one thousand of these engines were sold.

This engine is located in the Civilian Hangar near the Aviation Pioneers exhibit.
