The 801-ML was the first high-performance radial engine designed and built in Germany during World War II.

It is a 14-cylinder, air-cooled engine that weighs approximately 2,700 lbs. and can deliver 1,600 hp at take-off.

Aircraft that used this engine included the Dornier 217 bomber, night-fighter versions of the Junkers JU-88, and the Focke-Wulf 190 fighter. Our example is displayed within the engine nacelle of a Dornier 217.

This engine is located in the Military Hangar on south wall near the P-47 and 57th Fighter Group Memorial.
