42-6256 "Ramp Tramp". This plane was forced down by the Russians and Mike and the rest of the Jarrell crew were held prisoner from July 1944 until February 1945. |

He was shot down and held prisoner of war for more than a year in a Russian camp before escaping and rescue from the Red Cross. Once back in the United States, Mike was assigned administrative positions during his remaining years in the Air Force.

Mike worked in the insurance industry for a while, then he became a Salina city commissioner in 1971. He also founded Crown Builders, a residential foundation and building company. He ended his worked career at Walmart.

Mr. Losik passed away September 12, 2012. He is buried at All Saints Cemetery in Salina, KS.
