P-51D Racer Restoration Diary

The engine's main oil tank was cleaned and refinished in yellow zinc chromate primer. The hydraulic reservoir was restored as well.
The horizontal stabilizer, vertical stabilizer, and the pair of elevators were repaired and prepared for paint . A coat of white epoxy primer was applied. The rudder was resurfaced with period appropriate cloth covering and then painted with several coats of not-tauntining dope. Both wing fuel cells were also restored.
