P-51D Restoration Now Underway
The Air Museum is pleased to announce that it has begun restoration work on a historic North American P-51D Racer that participated in the Cleveland Air Races in both 1948 and 1949 piloted by Anson Johnson. Johnson won the 1948 Thompson Trophy.
Under the Articles menu selection, we've added a new article for you to learn about this winning air racer.
There is also an additional link where you can follow monthly updates from the restoration crew chief, Pete McConnell.

Day Trip to The Collings Foundation, Stow, MA
On Saturday, Sept. 6, the Air Museum is sponsoring a motorcoach trip to The Collings Foundation located in Stow, MA to visit their impressive collection of automobiles, racing cars, military vehicles, trucks and farm vehicles, as well as, their display historic aircraft.

Plans are set for the 2014 B-29 Reunion
The 2014 reunion of the 58th and 315th Bomb Wings will be held May 15 to 18 at the Sheraton Hartford Hotel located at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, CT. The schedule includes a visit to the New England Air Museum and the 58th Bomb Wing Memorial, as well as, day trips to Hartford museums or to Essex, CT for steam train and riverboat rides.

2014 Flights and Fantasies Quilt Show to be held September 22 - 28
It's not too early to start thinking about the 3rd Annual Flights and Fantasies quilt show! The theme this year is "Pack Your Troubles" in commemoration of World War I. Expected are over 150 quilts, special exhibit of Challenge quilts, an exhibit of WWI quits, and more! Check back as more information becomes available.
