He was a member of the First Church of Monticello

Presbyterian, and attended the Hobe Sound Community Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Hall-Bryan V.F.W. Post 10132 in Hobe Sound and the Rood Williams American Legion Post 271 in Jupiter. He was the oldest member of the Monticello Fire Department in Monticello.
