Thoughts on the 58th Bomb Wing:
When in China and India, the B-29 was not fit for service. However, by good work of the ground crews, the bugs were ironed out. Missions over Tokyo and other targets were flown too low. As a result many lives were needlessly sacrificed so someone could make a name for themselves.
Mr. Ervin passed away September 9th 2012 and is buried at Floral Gardens Cemetery, Bay City, MI.
