He retired from Westinghouse Electric Corp., Lima, after 43 years.

Thoughts on the 58th Bomb Wing:

In August 1944 he bailed out over China after the plane caught fire, and was missing in action for six weeks. He received the Purple Heart after a crash landing at Iwo Jima on a mission coming back from Kobe, Japan, in June 1945.

Comments:

Mr. Griffith passed away October 5th 2009 and is buried at St. Anthony Catholic Church Cemetery, Columbus Grove, OH.
