New England Air Museum Receives Major State Support

On January 29, 2016 the Connecticut State Bond Commission approved $985,000 in funding to be used by the New England Air Museum for a number of projects that will enhance the visitor experience and make NEAM an even more dynamic and relevant destination.
The funds will be used to support several projects which include: Two mezzanines which will give visitors an elevated view of our aircraft; major enhancements to the museum’s exhibits; doubling the museum’s classroom space; expanding the paved parking area and the creation of a new entry drive; improvements to the facility’s HVAC system, and a new attached storage facility to support artifacts, exhibits and archives.

“This funding represents tremendous momentum for the Museum,” observes executive director Jerry Roberts, “In addition to Governor Malloy we want to thank State Representatives Betty Boukus and Peggy Sayers who were instrumental in securing the funds and especially our own board member, retired state senator Con O’Leary. We could not have done this without his dedication and persistence.”
You can read the Hartford Courant article on the funding here.
