Education

Fun at the Museum

Please check the Events Calendar for special programs and activities. Children and family programs are scheduled during school vacation weeks in February, April and December as well as during summer vacation time. Open Cockpit Days are always a favorite with families and scout groups.

Anytime Activities

KidsPort Visit our newest exhibit "KidsPort," an interactive exhibit that uses touch-screen technology geared toward children ages 5-12, taking children on an exploration of aviation using games, music and lively video clips--and it's all warehoused in a kid-sized airport! The programs are in both English and Spanish.

Computer Flight Simulators Play pilot on one of our computer flight simulator games.

Scavenger Hunts Click the links below to print out one of our scavenger hunts and bring with you to the museum! (Clipboards, pencils and answer sheets are available at the Museum.)

Aviation Pioneers Theater View a spectral imaging show and learn about the many innovations the people of Connecticut have contributed to aviation technology.

Video Kiosks Visit one of our video kiosks for short presentations on:

  • Aerodynamics (how a plane flies)
  • Aircraft Propulsion
  • Milestones of Flight
  • Restoration of Wright Brothers #17 Engine
  • Tuskegee Airmen
  • Women in Aviation
