Plan a Field Trip

Tours
A tour of the museum can be arranged for any age group by appointment with the Director of Educational Programs. The Museum is ready to work with teachers to develop tour programs that fit their curriculum. A tour guide is assigned to every 15-20 people in a group. A tour typically lasts 1½ to 2 hours. The Museum can accommodate groups for lunch provided reservations are made ahead of time. Please fill out and return the visitation form or call the Education Department at 623-3305 extension 13.

Payment
Payment can be made the day of the visit or in advance by check made out to the New England Air Museum, credit card or cash. Payment must be received by the Museum before a program or tour can be conducted.

Sample thematic tours
Tours of the museum can be given from many different perspectives. It is helpful to the tour guide to know in advance the objective of the field trip. Possible themes for tours are:

  • The Evolution of Flight
  • Connecticut’s Contributions to Aviation
  • Pioneers in Aviation
  • Airplane Design
